The Varg story begins long before the business had a name.
In 1990, Erik Hagen moved to Western North Carolina with nothing but a strong work ethic and an old-school commitment to quality. He spent years honing his crafts, building a reputation for reliability, and earning the trust of families throughout Asheville and the surrounding areas.
His son, Nick Hagen, was born and raised in Barnardsville, and by the time he could walk, he was already following dad’s footsteps around job sites. Erik taught Nick the ins and outs of trades, but more importantly, he taught him how to work with integrity, respect, and genuine care for every customer.
Today, Nick works side-by-side with his father, blending modern techniques and fresh energy with Erik’s decades of experience. Together, they’ve built Varg Enterprises into a plumbing company that feels personal, dependable, and deeply rooted in the Asheville community.
